FEH Summon Simulator FAQ
What does the FEH Summon Simulator calculate?
The FEH Summon Simulator estimates how many paid orbs it may take to complete a summoning goal. It simulates summoning circles, color sniping, appearance-rate increases, focus and non-focus Heroes, Focus Charges, optional sparks, and circle discounts. Results are estimates rather than guarantees.
What do the percentiles mean?
Each percentile shows the orb cost at which that percentage of simulated players completed the selected goal. At the 25th percentile, 25% finished within that many orbs. The median is the halfway point. The 75th and 90th percentiles show increasingly unlucky outcomes and can help when planning a safer orb budget.
How does the orb-budget lookup work?
Enter an orb amount after running the simulation. The lookup reports the percentage of simulated outcomes that completed the goal within that budget. For example, a result at the 70th percentile means about 70% succeeded with that many orbs or fewer.
How does color sniping affect orb costs?
The simulator pulls stones only from colors that can still advance the selected goal. If a summoning circle has none of the needed colors, it pays for one fallback summon before leaving the circle. Pulling several useful stones from one circle costs fewer orbs per summon, so the target color and summoning-pool colors both affect the final estimate.
Does color sharing make it harder to summon one specific focus Hero?
Slightly, when measuring the cost of sniping that color, but not because the shared Hero replaces a copy of the Hero you wanted. On a four-Hero banner with a 3% focus rate, each focus Hero begins with the same 0.75% share whether the Heroes are on separate colors or two share one color.
Color sharing adds more focus results to the target color. That lowers the chance that any individual stone of that color contains the one specific Hero you want, while increasing the chance that it contains a focus Hero overall. You therefore tend to summon more 5-star Heroes, but some will be the other color-sharing focus Hero. That Hero did not take a result that otherwise would have been your target; on another color, it would still have been that other Hero and you likely would not have opened its stone.
The difference is usually modest when seeking one copy, but it compounds across larger goals. In representative simulations, the median for one copy changed from about 117 orbs without color sharing to 121 with a second focus Hero on the target color. For 11 copies, the median changed from about 1,500 to 1,677 orbs. Exact results vary by banner, color, pool composition, and enabled features.
How do Focus Charges work, and how much do they help?
Summoning a non-focus 5-star Hero adds one Focus Charge. Heroes summoned through the 4-star Special Rate do not add charges. One or two charges remain lit even if a focus Hero is summoned. After all three charges are lit, finish the current summoning session and begin a new one. In that new session, the next 5-star Hero will be drawn only from the focus Heroes. The charges reset when that focus Hero is summoned.
Focus Charges rarely change short goals because most players will not summon three non-focus 5-star Heroes before finding one target copy. Their value becomes more noticeable during long sessions.
In 100,000 representative trials for 11 copies of one red focus Hero on a normal four-Hero banner, with red color sniping and no spark, the median was about 1,500 orbs with Focus Charges and 1,677 without them. That is a savings of about 177 orbs. Savings grew to about 241 orbs at the 75th percentile and 310 at the 90th. These are illustrative estimates rather than universal savings.
For additional rules and exceptions, see the official Focus Charge FAQ.
How are sparks handled?
When Spark available is selected, the simulator adds one chosen focus Hero after 40 paid summons if the goal has not already been completed. Because the spark guarantees progress at a fixed summon count, upper percentiles may cluster near the orb cost of reaching 40 summons. The actual orb cost varies because summoning multiple stones from the same circle is discounted.
How accurate are the results?
Each run generates 10,000 independent simulation samples. Adding more samples makes the displayed percentiles more stable, especially for expensive goals and unlucky outcomes, but it does not change the underlying appearance rates. Small differences between runs are normal.
Which summoning pools are used, and how often are they updated?
The simulator combines the focus lineup entered on the page with FEHology’s summoning-pool data. The pool tracks the color distribution of normal non-focus 5-star Heroes, 4-star Special Rate Heroes, regular 4-star Heroes, and 3-star Heroes. Banner appearance rates are applied separately.
FEHology will update the summoning-pool data shortly after every new banner. The date shown with the simulation results identifies the pool snapshot currently being used.
Methodology
How Summoning Costs Are Simulated
The FEH Summon Simulator models complete summoning sessions rather than multiplying a single appearance rate by an orb total.
- Each run begins with 10,000 independent trials.
- Every summoning circle contains five generated stones, and the simulator pulls only colors that can still advance the goal.
- If no needed color appears, one fallback stone is summoned before leaving the circle.
- Orb costs use FEH’s circle discounts: 5, 4, 4, 4, and 3 orbs.
- Appearance rates increase after unsuccessful summons and respond to focus and non-focus 5-star results.
- Focus odds are divided among the focus Heroes entered for the banner, including Heroes that share a color.
- When enabled, Focus Charges follow the three-charge focus-only behavior used by eligible summoning events.
- When enabled, a spark contributes one selected focus Hero after 40 paid summons.
- The displayed percentiles come from the completed orb-cost results, while the budget lookup reports the share completed within a chosen orb amount.
Simulation results describe a range of likely outcomes, not a promise that a Hero will appear by a particular orb total. Adding more samples reduces variation in the displayed estimates but cannot remove the randomness of summoning.
